A four-year-old girl died in a car crash after her parents followed sat-nav instructions which contradicted road signs, an inquest heard.

Ariana Bardhaj was killed when her parents' car collided with another vehicle as they drove along the A6 in Blackrod, Bolton, on 11 September.

Fernando and Trish Bardhaj, of Blackpool, said they had not seen the no right turn signs into Station Road.

Giving a narrative verdict, the coroner said Ariana died of multiple injuries.

The hearing at Bolton Coroners' Court heard that learner driver Mr Bardhaj had just taken over the driving from his wife.

'Plenty of signage'

Ariana and her younger brother, Xhemil, were in the back of the family's white Vauxhall Astra when it collided with the Audi A5, which was travelling at 45mph (72km/h). The speed limit on the A6 is 60mph (96km/h).

Sgt Garry Lyle, of Greater Manchester Police, told the hearing: "They were following a sat-nav and it told them to turn right.

"There's plenty of signage there saying 'No right turn'. The sat-nav said turn right and they followed that and didn't follow the signs."

Sgt Lyle said he returned to the scene with a similar sat-nav and it also told him to turn right.

But the sat-nav carried a warning telling motorists to follow road signs and restrictions, the inquest heard.

The Audi hit the back passenger door and Ariana took the full force of the impact. She died in the Royal Bolton Hospital three hours later.

Assistant Deputy Coroner Peter Watson said: "The deceased died from a severe head and spinal injury sustained while she was a passenger in a motor vehicle involved in a road traffic collision."

My three school resolutions are.

to eat lunch at school every day because I seem to focus more in class or do better on test when I eat lunch.

Get more sleep, so I’m not sleeping in my 6^th hour every day and miss out on information i need for the test.

Do my homework every day, and turn it in completely done. Because lately I haven’t been doing my homework and if I have I haven’t been completing them.

Personal resolutions are.

To walk home from school every day unless I’m sick or the weathers really bad. Because I use to walk everyday and I haven’t been walking much anymore.

Not go on facebook everyday only twice a week, because lately I’ve been going on too much.

Not stay up till 5am every night on the phone. Because I’m normally really grumpy the next day.

I’ll be living with my mom, or in one of her renter houses. Till I can save up to buy my own house, my heating and cooling bill will be taken care of, me and my friend will be splitting the electricity bill. I’d be making  $1,333 per month, rent would be $220 when its split with my roommate.  I would also being going back to school to get a teaching degree. Which would be free because the VA (veterans administration) is paying for all my dad’s kids schooling.

my plans for my 5 days weekend are , Wednesday I’m going to make my mom make me a pumpkin pie , because I love pumpkin pie , it’s my favorite, also make mash potatoes and stuffing because, I really only like my mom’s , but I’ll eat others peoples, I’m going to my dad’s after thanksgiving because I don’t like my step moms cooking she makes her turkey dry and she puts weird stuff in her food, that I don’t like and it just taste wired, I’ll be going to two thanksgiving my uncles girlfriends families , and my mom’s boyfriends families.  I’ll most likely eat a lot more at my uncles girl friend’s family because I really like there cooking and they are a very nice and warm welcoming family, and I really like my uncles girlfriends daughter, she only two and really cute, My mom’s boyfriends family is really rude and not welcoming, I don’t really enjoy being there, and plus whenever they have a family get together the whole family comes an it gets really home n crowded, and things get spilled an my mom get upset and..Well everything just goes downhill.  Friday I’ll be going to my dad’s and takes care of him because he got surgery. I’ll be washing dishes making his plate cooking dinner helping him when my step mom get mean and nasty, pretty much being a maid. But I don’t mind it, Sunday I’ll be going home and I’ll be going to the doctors and getting my foot checked out again, then going home yet again dealing with my mom’s boyfriend till midnight when my mom gets home. Then all the extra time I have I’ll be sleeping, eating, watching TV, playing wii with my dad, or playing play station hockey with my dad, playing with my dog, on facebook, and fighting with my brother which drives my dad crazy.
